Every year Middle School, High School and School to Work students sign up for Overbrook Idol — our school’s version of the TV classic. Each year we don’t think it can get much better than the last and we always leave saying “THAT WAS THE BEST SHOW EVER!”.

This year, nearly 30 students participated in the this fun and inspiring event. Each student selects their own song to sing and a variety of musical styles is always represented. Some students rocked out, some sang a bit of country, some hip’d, some hop’d and some even wrote their very own songs. Each student had the opportunity to show the school community how talented they are — and how entertaining!

Each and every student is a winner on Idol Day! It is one of the best days of the school year! Many thanks to Ms. Julia DeFruscio, Frankie Lombardo, John Martin and all the staff who come together to make the day a success.

The interim Awards are designed to highlight students’ progress for the first half of the school year, and they are rewarded with certificates of excellence in many subjects, or areas of improvement.
The assembly is a gathering for all Educational programs and each one selects students to perform on the stage.
The Interim Awards were on Friday, Feb. 5, and the end of the Assembly featured the 1st Place EAAB Winning cheerleaders. The assembly was fun for everyone, and very motivating to the students who are looking forward to doing great things for the rest of the school year.

The Career Education and Pre-Vocational class went to LaDolce Bakery last Thursday. They received a behind the scene tour of the bakery and had a hands on experience in cake decorating. They also learned the meaning of the Italian word LaDolce which means sweet in English. Many thanks to Mrs. Diane Pagano and her staff for this special day at your Bakery.
