High School Student Acheives Eagle Scout

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Excerpted from the Delaware County Times:

Brian wasn’t always certain he’d make it to Eagle Scout, like his dad, grandfather and brother before him.

In fact, part way through his Boy Scouting experience, the 18-year-old senior at the Overbrook School for the Blind started to doubt himself.

“As time went on, I thought I would never get to Eagle, and I started to get overwhelmed,” he said.

But through his commitment and dedicated family and friends, Miller was able to attain his dream as he received the Eagle Scout designation Saturday at a formal ceremony for Troop 355 of Holmes at the Holmes Presbyterian Church.

“To me, it’s an achievement,” he said. “It’s a rank of prestige that not many achieve.”
