How We Learn at OSB: Interoception

Ms. Morgan's Primary class wrapped up a semester-long unit on Interoception this week, and what a way to finish!

Interoception is the sensory system that helps us feel and understand what's going on inside our bodies (hunger, thirst, heart rate, emotions, and more). For our students, building that internal awareness is a big part of learning how to self-regulate. Led by OT Kelli Page and PT Erin Patterson, students spent the semester exploring how different parts of their bodies affect how they feel and react.

Their final lesson was all about the brain, and the kids put it to work. Rolling, jumping, and spinning to feel firsthand how movement changes the way their brains respond. This is what learning looks like at OSB.
