OSB Welcomes Renee Crosby as Director of Health Services

Philadelphia, PA (Nov. 13, 2025)—Overbrook School for the Blind (OSB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Renee Crosby, MSN, RN, CRNP, as its new Director of Health Services. Her 35 years of nursing include over 20 years as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner -- providing a wealth of expertise in clinical care and educational health leadership.

Prior to joining Overbrook, Renee served as Director of Nursing Services at the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children, where she oversaw care for medically complex students in a residential program. Her leadership focused on ensuring coordinated, compassionate care and building strong relationships with students, families, and staff.

A Pittsburgh native, Renee earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nursing from Carlow University and holds a Certificate in School Nursing from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Her career has spanned inpatient, outpatient, and procedural care in both hospital and school settings, and she has led numerous initiatives in community health, wellness education, and crisis response.

Renee is also deeply involved in community service, serving on the UPMC School Nurse Advisory Group, the UPMC Mercy Board of Trustees, and as a youth mentor, foster parent, and church health coordinator.

At Overbrook, Renee is focused on strengthening communication and collaboration within the Health Services team.

“My goal is to make sure families know exactly who is caring for their child,” she said. “We want parents to feel confident and connected — knowing that our nurses truly understand their students and are part of their educational journey.”
