A GIFT THROUGH THE UNITED WAY

Designate Overbrook School for the Blind as the agency you want to receive your contribution through your annual gift to the United Way. Overbrook School for the Blind's agency number is: 00816.

CORPORATE MATCHING GIFT

Many corporations offer matching gift programs to their employees and their families. Some corporations offer to double or triple an individual’s gift. It is important that you contact the human resource department at your company to obtain a matching gift form. Please contact Overbrook’s Development staff for additional information.

GIFTS OF STOCKS OR MUTUAL FUNDS

Using appreciated stock or mutual funds is an effective, tax-deductible way to fund your gift to Overbrook School for the Blind. Outright gifts of appreciated securities held longer than one year are exempt from capital gains taxes and are deductible at the fair market value at the time of transfer. To avoid exposure to capital gain tax, the stock must be transferred to Overbrook School for the Blind. We then sell the stock from our account. You might also discuss with your financial advisor other vehicles, such as Donor Advised Trusts, by which you can give appreciated stock.

If you are interested in making a gift of stock today or in the future, please contact our Development Office by calling 215-877-0313 ext. 264 and they will provide you with all of the details your broker will need to complete the electronic delivery to Overbrook School for the Blind.

Overbrook’s Development Office will also ensure that your generous gift properly credited and that you receive a letter for tax purposes.

TRIBUTE GIFTS

Perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, graduations, or as an expression of sympathy, a tribute gift is a wonderful way to honor family and friends throughout the year. A personal acknowledgment is sent to the family or individual being honored. Tribute gifts are 100% tax-deductible. Please consider making a tribute gift to Overbrook that supports our programs and service.

To discuss your options, 215-877-0313 ext. 234 or email the Development Office for a return phone call.
