Expanded Core Curriculum

Each student’s Individualized Education Program guides a learning experience designed to support the whole child.

Students have access to a full team of teachers, therapists, orientation and mobility specialists, counselors, and related service professionals who work together to support learning, communication, independence, mobility, and daily living skills.

Across all educational programs, OSB incorporates the Expanded Core Curriculum, a set of disability-specific skills that students with visual impairments need in order to lead full, independent lives. These skills are included in Pennsylvania’s Approach to the National Agenda and are woven into each student’s educational experience.
