OSB’s Extended School Year Program is designed to maintain skills and reduce regression during the summer months by incorporating academic, social, behavioral and vocational Individualized Educational Program (IEP) goals.
For five weeks during the summer, programming themes provide an engaging foundation for summer learning and fun. These themes help generate ideas for specific activities in which the students’ goals are integrated and maintain the consistency of programming in a fun way. Depending on the level of the student, activities during ESY include morning meeting, music therapy, swimming, small job experiences at the Huskies Cafe, therapies, science experiments, communication opportunities, field trips and more. Individualized reports on each student’s achievements are sent home to parents at the end of the five weeks.
