What is an Everyday Hero at Our School?

We believe that every student, staff, and School Community member who steps onto our campus has the potential to change someone's day, someone's outlook, someone's achievements, and often times someone's opportunity to live a happy and fulfilling life. Overbrook School for the Blind is filled with everyday heroes and changemakers. Our staff would tell you it is the students who are the stars, the students who achieve goals by hard work and dedication, the students who keep us laughing and definitely teach us something new each day. We agree that our students are remarkable people, heroes of the best kind and we would add that our teachers, therapists, and support staff are the changemakers that help our student heroes become their best selves. We are proud of the accomplishments,  expertise, the data-driven goal achievement, and the thirst to constantly improve, as staff, so that we can improve education for our students. On the pages within we hope you get to know more about our unique, creative, driven, fun, talented everyday heroes and changemakers that we are fortunate enough to be surrounded by on our beautiful campus.

A BIG Shout Out to Mr. Frank in Maintenance!

See how the staff at our school stop at nothing to assist in helping our students achieve their goals! Our maintenance crew constantly steps up with creative solutions, expert skills, and a lot of fun, too. There is no doubt that in this village, each individual does their share to enrich the lives of our students. Read more about Mr. Frank and Ms. Melissa Brown, OT collaborated to make an adapted shape sorter! We are ever amazed by what can happen when people work together.
